If you’re planning on picking up some last minute bits and bobs for Christmas, as well as savouring a really unique and festive atmosphere in a great venue, then look no further than Crossmolina Christmas Market in Enniscoe.
The market takes place from 10am – 6pm on Saturday 17th December, and 12pm – 6pm on Sunday 18th in the lovely courtyard at the North Mayo Heritage Centre, Enniscoe House, Crossmolina, Co. Mayo.
The Christmas market will have stalls containing everything from Irish handmade crafts to brick-a-brac, books and candles, scrumptious chutneys & jams, wood-fired pizza, crepes and even a hot chocolate fountain!
There will also be face-painting for the little ones. Entry to the Christmas markets is free.
Of course Santa himself will be visiting Crossmolina Christmas Market. He’s arriving at 2.00pm and will stay until 4.30pm, and if you can’t make it to meet him on Saturday, he’ll be back again on Sunday from 2.00pm to 4.30pm. Tickets are €10 per child and can be bought at reception. Tickets include a quality gift per child, a chocolate treat and even some reindeer food! There’s also complimentary tea or coffee to keep the grown-ups happy.
Two Christmas Concerts will take place during the of the market, organised by Maureen Lawlor and Centre Stage Academy. The concerts start at 5pm and tickets, priced at €5 can be bought at the door.
Over the weekend, a really special exhibition titled “The toys we grew up with” will be on show in the North Mayo Heritage Centre. The exhibition promises to be a real trip down memory lane as it showcases many toys, books, board games, dolls and teddies from years gone by, and all the toys are on loan from people in the area.
While this is all going on, you can also take in the gorgeous looped walk around the Enniscoe estate. The festive Bog train will also be in operation over the weekend so make sure to climb aboard and take a trip around this lovely part of the world .
