Ho ho ho! Christmas is upon us and with it, the Christmas Market calendar is filling up rapidly. If you’re making your shopping list, be sure to include a trip to your local markets – as well as getting some beautiful individually crafted gifts, you’ll also get a lovely day out AND you’ll be supporting local businesses and jobs. First up this year is the annual Ballycastle Christmas Fair, which will take place in Ballycastle Community Hall on Saturday 26th November from 12pm – 6pm and 8pm – 9:30pm. There will be with a large variety of crafts and home baking on offer – perfect for all those Christmas visits!
Doors will open again on Sunday 27th November from 12noon – 4.00pm.

Christmas Craft Fair – Great National Hotel Ballina will be hosting a Christmas craft fair on Sunday 27th of November from 11am -5pm, Free entry to the public just in time to get that special Christmas gift.

One of the biggest and best pre-Christmas markets in Mayo, this eclectic fair offers a huge selection of Irish arts and craft, including ironworks, wood crafts, seasonal foods, glasscraft, jewellery, Christmas decorations, paintings and lots, lots more. A sure place to pick up a gift for everyone in the family.

Swinford’s annual Christmas Market will take place this Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of December in Swinford Cultural Centre and Meeting Rooms, Swinford from 9:30am – 3pm on both days.
This annual market offers a variety of high quality handmade products ranging from ceramics, jewellery and decorations, handmade greetings card’s wooden ornaments, winter woollies, and a selection of cakes, bakes and jams all made by local stallholders.
You can also enjoy Christmas decoration workshops for children, a local choir will be popping by to sing some festive songs and Santa will be around handing out sweets and Christmas cheer.

This year’s Mistletoe Market, hosted by Kilmoremoy Ladies Gaelic Club as part of the Frosty Salmon Festival takes place from 11am – 6pm for the first time under the new cover in the Military Quarter, off Pearse Street and beside the Market Square. This amazing new venue is sure to contribute to a truly festive atmosphere over the two days. Listen out for carol singers, festive tunes, visit Santa Claus in his grotto and pick up some tasty bites to eat.

This one-day Chrismas Market is being hosted by Enniscrone Women’s Activity Club in the Diamond Coast Hotel from 10am – 6pm and is sure to feature lots of homemade crafts.

For the first time, the stunning Enniscoe House is hosting a Christmas Market in the old courtyard. True to Enniscoe’s strong food heritage, expect a great mix of food offerings and a fabulous festive atmosphere in this beautiful old space which is sure to become a favourite among the many Christmas markets in Mayo. Be sure to go early so when you’re done browsing and shopping, you can wrap up warm and take in one of the looped walks around the estate and down by stunning Lough Conn.
The very talented Centre Stage Vocal Academy will be putting on Christmas Concerts at 5-6pm both evenings. Seating is limited, and admission is €5 with free raffle entry included!
