Clarke’s salmon smokery is more than a normal business in Ballina – it is a local landmark in its own right. As a family run business of over 70 years, Clarkes continues to produce the highest quality seafood to this day. Such high quality has seen many awards won over the years including at the prestigious Taste of Ireland awards.
Since its founding many years ago, Clarke’s salmon smokery has developed quite substantially. While you will still find the traditional favourites such as the famous oak smoked Irish wild salmon in the shop, the business now incorporates a fully stocked seafood deli with many delights available. Recent additions to the recently refurbished shop have seen sea vegetables, wines and Irish farmhouse cheeses also become available for purchase.
Outside of having a vast local knowledge on fishing in the Moy Valley region Clarke’s also provide other services to the local and angler alike. These include providing a very popular smoking service for fish caught in the region and giving out advice on recipe and serving suggestions. Clarkes will also happily give tips on how to care for your produce once you take it home with you.
