The Jackie Clarke Collection is hosting their annual Christmas letter to Santa competition. The aim of this competition is to encourage young children to practice the sometimes forgotten tradition of handwriting their own Christmas letter to Santa. Just drop your letters into the big post box in the Jackie Clarke Collection! Closing date: Friday 1st of December 2017 at 4pm.
The winners will have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive sleigh ride with Santa in Ballina and will receive a wonderful gift set from Toymaster, Ballina.
Kicking off the Christmas period in Ballina will be Santa’s arrival party on Sunday December 3rd in the Jackie Clarke Collection from 2pm-5pm.
Mrs Claus will be in attendance, reading Christmas stories, and there will be a wonderful seasonal atmosphere with dance performances to Christmas songs and carols from the Moffatt School of Dance throughout the afternoon, as well as music from the Collection’s resident ‘Launch DJ’. There will be arts, crafts, face-painting and festive games with Ballina Girl Guides and some tasty treats available too.
Then when the party is in full swing, the main man himself will arrive to meet the children and parade through Ballina to his Grotto in the Military Barracks where he will be taking up residence over the festive period in Ballina.
On this day also, for children, young and old, there will be a Christmas Treasure Hunt of Ballina, sponsored by Dillons Bar & Restaurant – sure to be lots of fun!
Ballina’s Santa Polar Express Train returns with THREE dates this year – 2nd, 9th and 16th December! This is a really special train trip with Santa, departing at 11:20am on each date. A European-style Mistletoe Market will take place on Saturday, 9th December under the canopy in the Military Quarter, turning Ballina’s town centre into a festive fair of decorated stalls and lights, local traditional crafts and artisan foods.

Vouchers can be used to buy a range of local goods and services from a huge variety of participating members. Vouchers are available in denominations of €10, €25 and €50 and available in the Chamber Office, 096 72800. Full list of participating retailers at www.ballina.ie
