In Humbert’s Footsteps 2016 takes place on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July in beautiful Kilcummin, near Killala.
This event brings history to life in tribute to General Humbert and his troops, and their expeditions of Ireland. General Humbert landed in Kilcummin on 22nd August 1798.
This amazing family friendly FREE living history event will feature re-enactments, French Soldiers, Redcoats, Pikemen and Women, many battles, a military camp from 1798, cannon guns, swords, bayonets, muskets and so much more. It’s a great opportunity for families toexperience what life was like in 1798, also known as ‘The Year of the French’ (‘Bliain na bhFrancach’).
