The National Museum of Ireland – Country and Life, in turlough where you can visit and experience rural Irish life – 1850’s to 1950’s through exhibitions, visuals and sound, bringing our past to life.

National Treasures – Running until 31st August

This exhibition based on the RTÉ television programme explores aspects of Ireland’s social history over the past 100 years.  The collection was sourced both online and through public roadshows all over Ireland’s four provinces.  Explore over 70 items that represent different memories, themes and moments through the years.  The exhibition is staged in association with RTÉ and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).

 

Dresses – running until the 22nd May

An exhibition of mixed media by Breda Mayock taking place in the Courtyard Gallery.  The exhibition explores themes of weaving, mystery and memory.

 

Woodland Playground – newly opened

The new natural wood playground set in the picturesque woods in Turlough House is now open to the public.  There is also much more to explore from a willow hut to outdoor Art and of course the museum itself, this a great day out for all the family.
