Located within the curtilage of Enniscoe House, Crossmolina is the North Mayo Heritage Centre. The centre is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of the region of Mayo North.
The North Mayo Heritage Centre has a Family History Research Unit, which provides a genealogy service for clients all over the world. The centre also has a small museum of unique domestic and agricultural artifacts from North Mayo and also an exhibition area for you to explore on your visit.
Adjacent to the centre is our Victorian 3-acre walled organic garden which supplies fresh organic produce to individuals and businesses alike. The Secret Garden Café offers homemade soup, freshly baked breads, scones and other tasty treats and uses organic produce from the garden, when available. On fine days the terrace, which overlooks the garden, is open.
We were delighted when our centre was featured on RTE’s Lords and Ladles and Nationwide recently and our organic garden was shortlisted for an award from An Bord Bia in 2016.
In addition to all that the North Mayo Heritage Centre has to offer, there are a number of looped walks around the woods of Enniscoe and an ornamental garden to enjoy.
The North Mayo Heritage Centre hosts various activities throughout the year such as Christmas Market, Boo Halloween Event, Easter Egg Hunt, Mayo North Old Engine and Tractor Club Vintage Day and numerous other exhibitions, courses and events for all the family.
