Shore Farm Pony Therapy is based in the scenic location of Rosserk, Ballina overlooking the beautiful Killala Bay in Co. Mayo. Shore Farm caters for children with emotional, physical or cognitive disabilities between the ages of four and twelve, providing gentle, therapeutic riding sessions that reward children with a sense of achievement and freedom.
Children can enjoy building a relationship with the staff and the gentle ponies like the main man, Albert, growing their confidence and enjoyment as they go. The facilities at Shore Farm include a sand arena, stable yard and sensory trail, providing fantastic opportunities to expose riders to a rich variety of sensory experiences.
Shore Farm Pony Therapy is part of the newly accredited therapeutic riding coaches in Ireland and is the ONLY accredited centre in Mayo. Instructor Emer has undergone specific training at Festina Lente Equestrian Centre, which qualifies her to provide therapeutic riding sessions to young people, teenagers and adults with a disability. This centre is the only Therapeutic Riding Centre in County Mayo.
The staff at Shore Farm offer individualised programmes, or instructor Emer will cater for one-off lessons and sessions for children who might be visiting the area.
