1. Ballina Fringe Festival – 2nd – 11th October
Now in its ninth season, the Ballina Fringe Festival returns from 2nd to 11th October . This year’s theme is RESILIENCE. Taking place across venues throughout Ballina, the festival brings together artists, performers, musicians and audiences for a packed programme of theatre, music, visual arts, comedy and more. With plenty happening throughout the town, the Fringe is a great opportunity to experience Ballina’s creative side and enjoy the atmosphere as the town comes alive for ten days of culture and entertainment.

2. Foxford Traditional Weekend – 15th – 18th October
The sounds of traditional Irish music will fill Foxford from 15th to 18th October for the Foxford Traditional Weekend. The weekend brings together musicians and music lovers for a programme of traditional sessions, concerts and events throughout the town. Whether you’re a keen traditional music fan or simply enjoy a good session and a lively atmosphere, Foxford is the place to be for a weekend celebrating Irish music and culture.

3. Ballina Pumpkin Patch – 24th – 26th October
Autumn wouldn’t be complete without a pumpkin patch! Ballina Pumpkin Patch returns this October for a weekend of seasonal family fun. Families can pick their perfect pumpkin to take home and carve, explore the Pumpkin Market, enjoy food and coffee from local vendors. You can also take part in games, competitions and plenty of autumn-themed activities. In addition, this years event supports Sunflower Children’s Hospice, helping to raise vital funds for its work supporting children and families across the Western Seaboard.

4. The One Act Drama Festival – 6th – 8th November
Theatre takes centre stage in Ballina at the One Act Drama Festival. It brings amateur drama groups together for a weekend of live performances. 5. Mayo Dark Sky Festival – 30th October – 1st November
For something a little different, head west for the Mayo Dark Sky Festival, taking place across Newport, Mulranny and Ballycroy.
