Ballina and North Mayo to feature on all Aer Lingus Transatlantic Flights for the next 12 months
Great news for the North Mayo tourism industry this week, as InflightFlix International has announced that the area will be featured in the next update of their Wild Atlantic Way video guide on all Aer Lingus transatlantic flights. A select number of Ballina and North Mayo visitor experiences will be visible at 30,000 feet on flights all the way from North America.
Mayo North Promotions Office, Moy Valley Resources IRD and Ballina Chamber have teamed up to deliver the initiative, in collaboration with Shannon-based InflightFlix International who provide Aer Lingus with destination video guides for the airline’s in-flight entertainment. The InflightFlix destination video guide to the Wild Atlantic Drive will feature on Aer Lingus’ inflight entertainment on all long-haul aircraft. Aer Lingus’ transatlantic network boasts more than 3 million seats in 2019, operating 16 routes between Ireland and North America. Destinations include New York, Newark, Boston, Hartford, Washington, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Seattle Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Toronto as well as Minneapolis.

The in-flight video guide will help us to reach, engage, and inspire visitors to visit Ballina and North Mayo, and enjoy our breath-taking Atlantic Coast, stunning landscapes, vibrant towns and villages and six thousand years of history, and, more importantly, to stay longer, and return again.”
The destination video is designed to give an overview of the region, and features a rich range of locations, attractions and experiences across Ballina and North Mayo that visitors can enjoy.
Mags Downey Martin, Manager of Ballina Chamber of Commerce said: “We were delighted to once again team up with Mayo North in delivering this initiative and are delighted that will have the opportunity to see Ballina on screen and consider a visit to our beautiful town. Tourism affects all business, directly or indirectly so we hope that a continued rise in visitor numbers will ultimately benefit all businesses in Ballina and across North Mayo.”
The video is just one of a number of promotional and media initiatives being undertaken by Mayo North in collaboration with their members over the coming months in a bid to further raise the profile of Ballina and North Mayo.
Anne-Marie Flynn added: “We are delighted with the support we are receiving from our local businesses and from Mayo County Council’s Ballina Municipal District, which has allowed us to start investing in meaningful promotion of our area. Over the coming months will be rolling out a number of further media and PR initiatives featuring and promoting our supporting members. Applications are open in four categories including great things to do, amazing places to stay, entertainment, dining and shopping experiences.
