Following the outstanding success of its inaugural event, the much-loved Ballina Pumpkin Patch returns this October Bank Holiday Weekend. It promises another magical Halloween experience filled with pumpkins, autumn fun and unforgettable family memories.
Taking place on Saturday 24th, Sunday 25th and Monday 26th October, the Ballina Pumpkin Patch has become one of the highlights of the season. It offers families the chance to stroll through a beautiful pumpkin patch, enjoy spooky activities, capture picture-perfect autumn moments and soak up the festive atmosphere.
New for 2026, every child attending is guaranteed to receive a pumpkin, ensuring every young visitor leaves with the perfect Halloween keepsake.
This year’s event is also proud to support Sunflower Children’s Hospice, which will serve eight counties along the Western Seaboard. The hospice will provide vital support for children and young adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families, including respite, nursing and end-of-life care. Visitors will have the opportunity to make an optional donation when purchasing tickets, helping to support this vital service and raise awareness of the hospice’s important work.
As part of the wider Let There Be Light – Ballina Christmas Festival, the Ballina Pumpkin Patch also helps to support the annual Christmas lights in Ballina, contributing to the community-led programme that brings the town to life throughout the Christmas season.
Recognising the importance of creating an inclusive event, dedicated Autism-Friendly Sessions will take place from 9.30am to 10.30am on Saturday and Sunday, providing a quieter, calmer experience with reduced crowds and sensory stimulation for families who would benefit from a more relaxed environment.
Organisers Celebrate Community Spirit
The organising committee said they are excited to welcome families back after the overwhelming response to last year’s inaugural event.
“The response to the first Ballina Pumpkin Patch exceeded all of our expectations, and we’re thrilled to bring it back even bigger and better this year. We wanted to create a magical Halloween tradition where families can spend quality time together, enjoy the beauty of autumn and make lasting memories. We’re especially proud that this year’s event will support Sunflower Children’s Hospice, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful day out while also contributing to an incredibly important cause. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another fantastic weekend.”
Mairéad Melody Carr, Manager of Mayo North Tourism, welcomed the return of the event to the region’s autumn calendar.

- Single Ticket – €12 (includes admission and one pumpkin)
- Family Ticket – €30 (up to four people, with every child receiving a pumpkin)
- Autism-Friendly Child Ticket – €12 (includes one child, one accompanying adult free of charge and a pumpkin)
- Additional child for Autism-Friendly Sessions – €6 (includes a pumpkin)
Numbers for the Autism-Friendly Sessions are intentionally limited to provide a calm and enjoyable experience for participating families.
