Rouse’s Bar which is located on Pearse Street, in the heart of Ballina town, is an old world family run bar since 1947. The premises itself has been a pub since 1865, making it one of the town’s oldest bars.
The bar’s window display itself is of great interest, as it still has many original features and artefacts on display in and outside, which give an authentic view and understanding, on the old ways of the bar trade in the west of Ireland.
The trad sessions in Rouse’s Bar are legendary. The cosy setting make’s a trad session in this bar a must do for anyone visiting Ballina. Trad Sessions are held every Saturday night from 10pm.
This is also a renowned sporting bar, specialising in horse racing, GAA and fishing.
They also have a separate lounge for private parties and can cater for up to eighty people. This room can also be used for meetings. In the wintertime they host card games and quiz nights while in summertime the bar hosts car treasure hunts and outings to local race meetings.
