The Céide Coast Festival will take place across the Céide Coast region from August 2nd – 4th 2019. The Céide Coast encompasses the villages of Killala, Lacken, Kilcummin, Ballycastle and Belderrig.

Killala Bay Folk Club proudly present Seán Tyrrell LIVE in Johnny Lynn’s Bar. Doors open at 8pm with the show commencing  at 8:30pm. Tickets are €10 & can be purchased in advance by ringing Caroline on 087 9717623. They will also be available on the door on the night.  Don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience one of Ireland’s finest voices.

Over in Ballycastle, Healyfest 2019 is back by popular demand. It kicks off with it’s trad night in Healy’s Bar.

Belderrig Bronze Man – now in its 11th year will take place at Belderrig harbour. Registration is from 10:30am with the first race at 11am. Food will be served by the pier. Afterwards there will be a children’s sports day which will be held on the grounds of the former national school. The awards ceremony will be held in Belderrig Community Centre from 9:30pm. The Community Centre will also be showing the Mayo v Donegal match.

On the second night of Healyfest 2019 Brónagh McHale and Niamh Langan are two young local musicians, fusing together their unique styles and bringing with them some classics and oldies for everyone to enjoy! Both have previously played solo gigs at events such as Ballina Salmon Festival, Other Voices Live and The Jackie Clarke Collection summer stage!

On the third day/night of Healyfest

Dublin Rock ‘n’ Roll band Madra will take to the main stage.  Madra’s original music is influenced by the rock music of the 60s and 70s like the who and thin lizzy but also modern bands like foo fighters and white stripes.

Other musicians performing throughout the Healyfest weekend include Hugsie and Emma Cotter, Rebecca McRedmond and Dan & Dylan. Head over to Healy’s Bar Facebook Page for more details.

Art Workshops

Free art workshops for kids 4-8 years old as part of The Céide Coast Festival 2019:

August Bank Holiday Weekend – Killala & Ballycastle
The Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ballycastle: Friday, 2nd August, 11am to 1.30pm
Killala Community Centre, Killala: Saturday, 3rd August, 10am to 12.30pm

Places are limited and MUST be pre-booked. To enquire, please text Úna on 087 6684526. All materials supplied, old clothes should be worn. Younger children (4/5 year olds) will need a responsible adult to remain for the workshop.
