Crossmolina (in Irish, Crois Mhaoilíona) is a town in North County Mayo, Ireland, located between Ballina and Belmullet.
The picturesque town sits in the shadow of Nephin Mountain, straddling the River Deel near the northern shore of Lough Conn. The friendly town with its ancient cloisters and its old-world castles is pretty and welcoming, and is the centre of “Nephin’s Haven” – a delightful region encompassing the communities of Crossmolina itself, Keenagh, Eskeragh, Lahardane, Moygownagh, Ardagh & Kilfian, all of which hold their own treasures.
Nephin’s Haven is an area to take time out and find some peace in the solitude of the mountains, rivers, boglands and country walks. Recharge your batteries and nourish your soul, and spend your evenings refuelling and socialising at a trad session in the beautiful town.
Visit Crossmolina’s local website to find out more information about the area history and its strong community spirit. The Tourist Office opens daily from Monday – Thursday 9.30am – 5.30pm and Friday 9.30am – 1pm. Call +353 (0) 96 30935 for more information.
