Darkness into Light Ballina will take place this year for the fourth year running in the early hours of Saturday 11th May 2019. Darkness Into Light will take place simultaneously at more than 150 venues across Ireland and all over the world in aid of Pieta House. Competitors start their walk or run at 4:15am, with the aim of finishing as dawn is breaking.
The Ballina route is particularly special, as the walk/run takes you from outside the iconic St. Muredach’s Cathedral, over the River Moy, and through our beautiful, atmospheric Belleek Woods, where the trails will be light by candles and surprises await by the river among the trees. It is a truly magical route and one not to be missed.
Darkness Into Light will also take place this year in Claremorris, Clare Island, Erris, Castlebar, Westport and for the first time, in neighbouring Dromore West.
Pieta House vision is to create a world where suicide, self-harm and stigma have been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance.Darkness into Light is vital for our fundraising, for raising awareness and for bringing people together as we do everything we can to bring about a suicide-free world.
