Mayo in 2023 and bringing our long – established WELCOME HOME FESTIVAL to the Great National Hotel, to participate, enjoy and share in the 300th anniversary celebrations of our lovely old town in North County Mayo. If you have connections with the area, then this wonderful milestone is an event not to be missed and even if you don’t have connections, you will still be made heartily welcome. Céad Míle Fáilte (pronounced Kay-ed Meal-a Fall-Cha) is a well – known Irish greeting and it means a Hundred Thousand Welcomes! These welcomes are waiting for everyone and if this is your first visit to the area then I can assure you that there are an extra couple of welcomes reserved just for you!
Ballina nowadays is a fine town located at the mouth of the world famous River Moy. It was granted it’s charter in 1723 and there are many thousands of individuals around the world with connections to the area and would love to be able to visit during this celebratory year, so we are the lucky ones and make sure you reserve your room as soon as you finish reading this introduction.

THE HOTEL
The Great National Hotel is a fairly new, brilliant four star hotel just a few minutes from the centre of Ballina.
It consistently delivers at a high-quality level and we know that you will enjoy your time spent here. Although your stay is on a dinner bed and breakfast basis, lunch is also available in McShane’s Bar and Bistro and it is here that we will be hosting our sessions during the week. The bedrooms are really comfortable and spacious and have all the usual facilities but also include free wi-fi. Plus, there are a host of other fabulous facilities available for you, including the spa which offers a range of relaxing treatments for peace and tranquillity and the swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym. In fact, there is that much to keep you occupied and enjoying yourself you’ll hardly have time to leave the place.
