The NCF, Ballina · Friday 2 October 2026 · Opening Night
Ballina Punx kick off this year’s festival on Friday 2 October with a night that covers serious ground – Barcelona street-punk, Wild Atlantic dub reggae and dark, sharp post-punk from Leitrim, all under one roof at The NCF.
Opció K-95 are the real deal. Formed in Barcelona in 1995, they have spent thirty years playing hard, fast, politically charged street-punk rooted in Catalan identity and anti-fascist conviction. This is one of just two dates on their current Irish run. If you know them, you already know this is unmissable. If you don’t, you’re about to find out.
Ras Tinny is Ballycastle’s own, bringing his foundation-shaking Wild Atlantic dub reggae to Ballina. Deep bass, heavy riddim, and a sound that carries the full weight of the Atlantic in it – Ras Tinny is one of Ireland’s most distinctive voices in the dub and reggae tradition.
Forgotten Soldier is the post-punk solo project of a Leitrim-based artist making a welcome return to Ballina. Stark, politically conscious, and uncompromising – songs that cut straight to the bone.
€10 on the door. BYOB. No advance booking needed – just show up.
