Ballina Salmon Festival 2024 returns again to the town from 6th to 14th of July 2024. The longest running community festival along the Wild Atlantic Way, inspired by Ballina’s jewel in its crown, the River Moy, as Ballina is officially dubbed ‘Salmon Capital of Ireland’, Ballina’s Salmon Festival has evolved throughout its 59 years.

This year, in its 60th year, the ethos has remains the same. It continues to celebrate all that is great about the community of Ballina and Co Mayo; Family fun , music, arts, culture and heritage, sports and the magnificent River Moy, making Ballina Salmon Festival a very special  seven days to remember. ‘Meet as a Stranger, Leave as a Friend’.

The festival will include firm favourites such as National Heritage Day, The River Moy Swim and new this year, musical entertainment in the new Ballina Innovation Quarter (formerly the Old Military Barracks in the town centre) which will be provided on Thursday, 11th July by Mike Denver. 20:00 – 22:00 | 8th July: Reeling back the Years-Sounds of the 60’s in Ballina Arts Centre.

10:00-18:00 | 9th July: The Best of Ballina Awards 2024, in Great National Hotel Ballina.

10:00 – 18:00 | 10th July: National Heritage Day 2024, Ballina Town Centre.

19:00 – 23:30 | 11th July: Mike Denver in Concert at the Military Square in Ballina’s new Innovation Quarter.

19:00 – 23:30 | 12th July: Ballina Salmon Festival Busking Competition Final, in the Military Square, IQ, Ballina, as part of CEOL in concert.

19:30 – 23:30 | 12th July: CEOL in Concert at the Military Square in Ballina new IQ.

10:00 – 14:00 | 13th July: The Moy Swim 2024 – Irelands oldest river swim, Cathedral Beat Ballina.

21:30-23:30 | 13th July: ‘Jigs & Jerseys’ inspired Festival Birthday Bash, live music by ‘Cronin’ followed by spectacular fireworks display, along the two bridges and banks of the river Moy.
