The Belderrig Bronze Man triathlon returns on Saturday, 3rd August 2024, registration will be from 9am at the shore, with races commencing from 10:00am.
The ‘Bronze Man’ is a race around Belderrig village, in County Mayo, that includes a swim, cycle and run. The race is open to anyone, male or female, who thinks they are up to it! There are 4 categories, The Main Race, Relay, Junior Bronze Man(10 – 15 yo) and Kids race (5 – 9 yo) and the objective of the race is participation! It is not about winning or losing the race but about enjoying the day whether you are a contestant or a spectator.
The Belderrig Bronze Man race includes a 100m swim around Belderrig Harbour and then a 4 km cycle and a 4 km run through the village of Belderrig.
Junior races include a short cycle and run.
Kids sports day on the day.
The champions of the race will win the perpetual ‘Bronze Man Sword’ in Belderrig Community Centre, which will host the awards ceremony later that night.
