This year Foxford Riverfest takes a full weekend hiatus but returns with a beautiful Friday night line up instead.
On Friday 21st August Foxford Brass and Reed Band kick off the evening around 8:30pm. This is followed by the blessing from the Foxford clergy then as dusk falls beautiful music from Mayo singer-songwriter Julianne Hennelly will accompany the moving sight of “Candles to the Sea” – memorial candles drifting along The Moy.
Then to finish the evening go along to Cruisers Bar for a special treat – The Mississippi Sheiks, Rory Gallagher Tribute band from Foxford & Ballina. They are a dedicated, hard-working, no-frills and highly energetic power trio inspired by Rory’s life, music and legendary live performances.
