The town of Foxford in North Mayo is preparing to welcome the crew of the Argentine ship ARA Libertad to the town on Saturday, July 30. The visit has been organised to mark the 245th anniversary of the birth of Admiral William Brown, founder of the Argentine Navy.
10:45 – The Argentinian crew and Argentine Ambassador arrive in Foxford on Saturday.
11.00 – March of Argentine crew, Foxford Brass and Reed Band to the promenade for wreath laying ceremony.
12.00 Reception hosted by Mayo Co.Co and Admiral Brown Society Foxford in Admiral Brown Hall Foxford
13.30 depart to Craggagh Cemetery Foxford to graveside of former Argentine ambassador Ms Laura Bernal for grave side prayers and Last post
14.45 Crew and Ambassador depart Foxford for Dublin
