The Black Festival is set to return for 2024. A series of great days out with friends or family, from fun sports day, live music, food fair and more.
The festival will run from Thursday 25th – Monday 29st of July.
Daily Highlights
Thursday 25th – Opening night from 6pm at the Old Church, with the famous Black Pig on the spit. This year the festival welcomes two head chefs for cookery demonstrations, Chef Alan from the Diamond Cost Hotel & Chef Marcin from The Ocean Sands. The evening is rounded off with Mike Denver perming at the Diamond Coast, from 9:30pm with tickets available on the door.
Friday 26th
- Yoga at the beach
- Piggy bank painting and tie-dye @ Abhainn Studio
- Children’s busking
- Fun sports day with inflatable fun & nostalgic games at Enniscrone Kilglass Soccer Club
- Evening entertainment comes from music Doppler supported by Rosie Connolly & comedy with John Colleary with support from Terry Markey. The evening rounds off with an open mic in McNulty’s.
Saturday 27th
- Indoor & Outdoor market @ The Old Church
- Art & Crafts market @ Abhainn Studio
- Tanya’s Storytelling at the library
- Piggy Family Fun Day with Baby Boppers, with shows running throughout the afternoon.
- SUP competition hosted by Harbour SUP at The Pier
- Evening entertainment comes from Nimah McGraths “Gombean” (@the Old Church) followed by the Lacken Energy Black Pig Live GIG at the New Church.
Sunday 28th
- Sandcastle competition on the small beach
- Heritage walks with Paddy Tuffy from the New Church
- Fun Duck Race at the lifeguard tower
- Wellness Day – events throughout the day
- Trad music at Gilroy’s Pub
- Relish Records vinyl fair, DJ sets & BBQ
- Evening entertainment comes from Rolling Tones with Vinyl Paul at The Square, Mike Hanrahan & Brídín at The Waterfront, a Teen Disco in the Old Church, an topped off by Ahbainn Studio and Friends @ the Pizzeria.
