A two-day workshop for children (aged 6 – 10 years old) introducing collage cutouts using brightly coloured paper inspired by Henri Matisse. Participants will be encouraged to find their own style and flair with colour.
Under the guidance of artist Caroline Casey, in a relaxed atmosphere the participants will be working with acrylic paints, child safety scissors and non-toxic glue creating their own pieces of expressive art, filled with their own personality.
Henri Matisse Cut-Outs
In the late 1940s, Henri Matisse turned almost exclusively to cut paper as his primary medium, and scissors as his chief implement, introducing a radically new operation that came to be called a ‘cut-out’.
