Lahardane Harvest Fair - Visit North Mayo

Lahardane Harvest Fair

Lahardane Harvest Fair will take place in Lahardane village on Tuesday 15th August at 1pm. It promises to be a day filled with fun for all the family.

One of Mayo North’s oldest events, with a tradition of over 100 years. The festival originated a Harvest Festival, designed to give thanks for the summer crops in the area. Cattle and sheep were sold on the streets along with all manner of food, drink and crafts. The festival always falls on 15th August, which coincides with the Catholic religious holiday, the Feast of the Assumption.

Today on the streets of Lahardane during the Lahardane Fair Day under the shadow of beautiful Nephin Mountain, you can still see animals for sale, but it is also a day for families, relations and friends in the region to get together and celebrate their heritage. With fun family events, street stalls, auctions, displays of vintage tractors and vehicles, crafts, live music, dance, face painting, funfair and welly throwing this is always a day to remember – and one where anything can happen!

All this plus admission is only €2.
