MEGALITHOMANIA, a project by mischievous arts collective Spooky Beore, looks to reimagine how we relate to each other, our ecologies and the land. The festival will explore myth, music and the folklores of resistance. Spooky Beore and Friends have programmed a weekend of workshops, exhibitions, conversations, food, dancing, and folk magic to lead you astray.
Megalithomania is a three day arts and music festival in Ballycastle in Co. Mayo from the 28-30th of August. Come Step on the Stray Sod !

Megalithomania is a community arts and music festival that asks questions like, “Has this place always been a Luxury Hotel and Golf Course ? What was this place called before it was a Luxury Hotel and Golf Course and could I have gone there to re-enmesh myself in the ecologies I have come to see myself as separate from?”
We also ask questions like;
“Is techno feudalism an inevitable consequence of the psychomythological process that began with subjugation of the Tuatha Dé Danann?” “Can Stones talk? ” “What do the Peat Bogs have to say?” “What would happen if I stepped on a stray sod on a golf course, and could never get out?!”
Join Spooky Beore and Friends for a WEEKEND of workshops, exhibitions, conversations, food, dancing, going a bit astray, folk magic and melting into the flow of nature and non-linear time while nestled among a miniature golf course of ancient megaliths, just like your ancestors would have wanted!
Hidden folk of the mounds, lesser beings of the air, roving bands of Fianna Warriors, and, regular humans – ALL WELCOME!
