Hewan is a Dublin based Ethiopian DJ who is making a scene in different Irish festivals and music venues. She is vinyl collector with special interest in Ethiopian modern and trad music from 60s/70s and all African grooves from the same era. Her selections covers, afro-funk, afrobeat, highlife, rare finds of all genres of music from Africa.
Beside her monthly radio show on Dublin digital radio Hewan has bee part of Donal Dineen’s backstory guest DJs and played on ATN, Body & Soul , Cork Jazz festivals and different venues in Dublin and across the counties. Also supported and played with local and international DJs and artists like Hailu Mergia and Def Nettle.
