Denis is based along the Wild Atlantic Way in Killala Bay, and you can take a guided tour, including wild food foraging and outdoor feasting, in one of the most scenic parts of the country.
Learn about the flora and fauna of the land the fruits of the sea – cockles, mussels, seaweed, roots, stems, herbs, shrimp, periwinkles. You can even take a trip by boat to the local Bartra Island – uninhabited apart from a colony of seals.
Denis is a certified Failte Ireland Local Marine and Countryside Guide, so you’ll be in good hands. He also has a BA (Hons) in Heritage Studies, and what he doesn’t know about the area isn’t worth knowing.
Foraging for cockles and mussels is Denis’ most popular activity, and the best part of all is getting to cook and eat the fruits of your labour later on!
