Foxford: Guirys Bar - a warm welcome on the banks of the Moy - Visit North Mayo

Guirys bar sits on the end of Main Street in the heart of Foxford, by the banks of the River Moy. The bar is a traditional Irish pub, where a cosy fire and warm welcome awaits locals and visitors alike. Foxford is a mecca for anglers. This bar welcomes many through the season, coming in for a great pint of Guinness after a days fishing.

Family run by Martha & Pat Guiry since 1982, they pride themselves customer service, and this has earned multiple awards. They took the Pub/ Inn of the Year West 2018. In 2019, they won Bar of the Year at the Irish Hospitality awards. They were nominated for Best Bar & Pub/Inn of the Year in 2020 but the awards were cancelled due to Covid. 2023 has not disappointed either. Guirys Bar were awarded the title ‘Highly Commended’ in the Irish Hospitality Awards. As well as this they were nominated for Best Customer Service & Pub of the Year in the Irish Restaurant awards 2023.

Guirys Bar is very passionate about supporting the local community immersing themselves in local activities. Over the years they have supported the annual Foxford Traditional Music Festival, The Foxford River Fest, The traditional St Patricks Day Parade, Coffee Mornings, The Drama Society, Local Sporting Clubs along with many more.
