Ballina’s newest foodie business has just opened its doors! Congratulations to the team at the Jack Fenn Courtyard Café who have launched their latest venture in the newly refurbished courtyard of the fabulous Belleek Castle, Ballina.

The team at Belleek Castle are always working to develop their offering to visitors and locals alike, and Jack Fenn’s Courtyard Café is sure to attract lots of foodies to sample the finest of fresh, local, season produce in a gorgeous setting.

The team at Belleek Castle are already renowned for their passion for food and for sourcing and using the finest of local, seasonal ingredients and working with a huge variety of local artisan producers. Now,  they aim to bring the same level of quality into a more cosy and relaxed dining experience, serving simple, high-quality, delicious bites in this unique setting.

The food isn’t the only thing you’ll marvel at in the Jack Fenn Courtyard Café – the setting also makes for a great experience. Situated in the old stable buildings adjacent to the Castle, in this intimate but quirky space, lovingly created by Lilly, working with local tradesmen, many of the materials have been beautifully repurposed to create an environment that reflects both the history of the castle and the Wild Atlantic landscape in which we live.

We won’t give away the secret, but don’t forget to ask about the story behind the large table in the centre of the café! And of course there is the story of Jack Fenn the smuggler, who got himself into a tight spot …once upon a time, Jack bought a passport from an Irishman called Marshall Doran and bought himself a castle!
