The Moffatt school of Irish dancing are celebrating Mayo Day and the CRN Irish open championships weekend with a difference this year.
What should have been one of their biggest competitive weekends in dance, for the first time the 4 day event was also been hosted in Mayo at Breaffy House Hotel and arena will now be marked by the school in a unique way!
They are going walking and dancing for their chosen charity Mayo Roscommon Hospice.
On Saturday May 2nd, Mayo Day the dancers will all dress in their school tracksuits or dancing
costumes or Mayo jerseys , walk a 4km round trip from their individual homes with their families.
The dancers are going to take photos of their departure and return. On returning they are all going to dance 16 bars, record it, donate to their chosen charity – Mayo Roscommon hospice and post their videos to their social media pages of the school.
The majority are setting off at 11am. The dancers are delighted to have found a way to mark this special occasion, celebrate Mayo Day and the Irish open championships all in aid of a great cause.
