The estate, located just outside Ballina, Co. Mayo boasts several country pursuits for you to enjoy during your stay. The best news is, these activities are available to non-residents too.
From clay shooting to fishing, from falconry to Archery, whether you are a beginner or a world class shot or angler Mount Falcon can accommodate you. Mount Falcon Estate is very fortunate to have a beautiful 100 acre estate with one of the best salmon fishing rivers in Ireland, the River Moy, running through its heart.
For children, it is like a fairground of possibilities. They can learn to fish, to fly a falcon or just have fun in the great outdoors at the exercise and crafting classes.
This summer, Mount Falcon is also offering a fantastic children’s activity bundle – choose four activities for €60 (includes activities highlighted with * )
To avoid disappointment, Mount Falcon recommends that you book all activities and treatments in advance of arrival.
Birds of Prey Experience *
Mount Falcon has a variety of hawks and owls for you to get to know. You will gain a unique insight into their behaviour and experience handling the birds. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11.30am and 12.30pm | €25 per adult and €12.50 per child under 13
Woodlands Hawk Walk
Flying hawks is the experience of a lifetime! Mount Falcon’s expert Falconers will ensure you remember this incredible experience. Monday to Sunday 10.00am and 2.00pm | €150 per couple and €50 for each additional person (up to 12)
The river Moy is Ireland’s most prolific Salmon River. It offers great water for fly, bait and spinning. Mount Falcon Estate caters for all abilities and will do all they can to help you land a fresh run Atlantic salmon
Monday to Sunday 9am to 5pm. €125 per person (equipment available on request) Personal ghillie/guide (can be shared up to 4 people) €150 per day. State Salmon Licence required – Fisheries Manager will advise you.
Fly fishing lessons on the trout lake
You can learn the art of fly-fishing on Mount Falcon’s well-stocked trout lake and take a private lesson with an expert instructor. Your lesson will finish with the chance to land a beautiful rainbow trout.
Monday to Sunday, 1 hour €70, 2 hours €100, groups up to 4 guests per instructor (Equipment available on request).
Lake trout fishing *
The Estate lake is fully stocked with rainbow trout. You can fish on your own or share a rod between two people.
Monday to Sunday, €40 per rod | Mount Falcon operates a catch and release policy on their lake (this is an un supervised activity).
Skilled instructors are on hand to help both the experienced shot and beginners, enjoy the thrill of shooting clays. Mount Falcon even has a recoil free gun for first timers. €60 per person for 25 shots (min 2 people, 12yrs and over)
Archery is the perfect family activity and full instruction is on hand. Monday, Thursday and Saturday – 2pm to 4pm | 30 mins €65 per lane. This includes target, arrows and bows to share Up to a maximum of 5 people age 5+.
Golf driving range
Perfect for anyone who wants to practice or simply give golf a try. Mount Falcon’s Golf Driving Range is the ideal place for the children to learn too. Local links courses include Enniscrone, Carne Golf Links and County Sligo Golf Course. €10 for a bucket of balls | Tokens & Golf Clubs available at reception (this is an un supervised activity). Yoga in Nature
Combine yoga and nature under the canopy of the ancient trees and wild garlic of Mount Falcon with wonderful yoga instructor Aideen of Wild Atlantic Yoga.
Tuesday and Thursday – 10.30am – starting on the 5th July, 1 hour – €20 per person – 15 people . Yoga Bundle (8 classes): €120
Woodland Sound Baths
By using the sacred sound vibrations of Tibetan and crystal bowls, Emma West will bring your mind and body back to its natural state of harmony. Emma’s sound baths are phenomenal. Her passion and expertise shines through every moment of the experience.”

Summer Activities for Children
Fun with Elaine – children’s exercise and crafting class *
Elaine has designed a two-hour class combining exercise in the great outdoors with sensory arts & crafts in Mount Falcon’s bamboo tent. She really is a little bit magic. Tuesday and Thursday – 11am – starting on the 28th June. 2hrs – €20 per child. Parent/guardian is requested to remain close by.
Wildflower Forest School *
Michaela will bring the children on a magical journey of bushcraft, plant and tree ID, foraging, free play and woodland games.
Wednesday at 11.30am – starting 29th June (Two exceptions: Wednesday 13th of July session will be held on the 14th at 1pm and Wednesday August 3rd session will be held on Sunday the 7th of August at 2pm). Duration: 1h 30mins – €20 a session and €15 for additional child
Daithí’s Wild Child Forest Adventure*
Let the children completely immerse themselves in nature and discover how amazing it is on Daithí’s Wild Child Adventure Nature Walk. Sundays at noon – starting on Sunday 3rd July to 28th August. Duration: 1h 30mins – €20 per child and €15 per additional child.
Little school of owls and raptors *
Mount Falcon’s Little School is set up to enthral and educate the younger generation. Children will be allowed to handle the birds and learn from the Estate’s expert Falconers. Monday and Thursday at 11.30am – starting on the 27th June | €20 per child with a parent/guardian.
