This year we will still feature a number of educational walks and talks with various experts telling us about or local ecology, organic gardening and the rare breeds which can be seen on the Enniscoe Estate. In light of the current Covid-19 restrictions we have had to reimagine how this will be delivered.

There will be two exhibitions, one on Birdwatching and what you might expect to see in Mayo. The other is about life on the Enniscoe Estate and some of the people who worked here over the years. The North Mayo Heritage Centre holds over 1.2 million records and provides a genealogy research service for the global Mayo diaspora. Our researchers have prepared a series of 5 videos which will be available through social
media which will explain the sources for information in tracing your family ancestry.

‘I am delighted that we are able to make this programme available to visitors to the North Mayo Heritage Centre’ said Hugh Trayer, Manager of the centre. ‘ It’s been a very difficult 18 months for us all but we have reimagined how we go about our day to day delivery of products and services to our visitors’.

This year the programme is being delivered with the assistance of the National Parks and Wildlife ServiceBirdwatch Ireland (Mayo Branch), the Moy Trust and the staff of The North Mayo Heritage Centre. In keeping with the ethos of social inclusion and as active members of our community all the events, exhibitions and
videos will be FREE to attend or to view.

If you would like to attend one of the workshops or walks you will need to pre-book by calling (096) 31809.

Numbers will be restricted for some of these events. Details of each individual event will be made available through the Centre’s social media channels.
