Síamsa Sráide means “Fun on the Street” (in Irish, or Gaeilge) and Siamsa Sraide is also the name of Swinford’s own summer street festival, now in its 35th year. This year’s Siamsa Sraide Street Festival takes place from Thursday 1st August to Wednesday 7th August and is a week-long celebration of music and fun in market town, Swinford, Co, Mayo. It is an ideal fun family festival, with 90% of the events being provided for FREE.
Trad sessions, open-air céilí dancing, Busking Competitions and Heritage Day – you’ll find them all in Swinford. The programme has always boasted a strong, warm and welcoming community focus and this year, forms part of the extensive Swinford 250 & More programme.
