The stunning Enniscoe House which is situated on the shores of Lough Conn in Crossmolina and in the shadow of Nephin mountain is set to feature in a new upcoming film entitled ‘Prospect House’. Shot at this historic location in Spring 2022, ‘Prospect House’ is set to make its premiere this Friday evening at the 2023 Cork International Film Festival.

About ‘Prospect House’
In ‘Prospect House’ by acclaimed Director Paul Mercier, passionate protesters bring history to life within the worn walls of an 18th-century house, fighting to protect it from destruction. Mercier’s script is a satirical masterpiece that blurs the boundaries between “reality” and the world of re-enactment, driven by the rebellious energy and the pulsating score of Mel Mercier.
Among the film’s cast are several local Mayo based actors including Westport’s Keith Martin and Ballina’s Liam Alex Heffron while Lahardane’s Aidan Browne was a crew member.
Increased popularity of Mayo for film producers
The Wild Atlantic Way and specifically Mayo has become increasingly popular as a film making destination, wowing onlookers worldwide with its stunning scenery. In the last number of years, we have seen several films shot here. Most recently scenes filmed in Erris from the upcoming ‘A Cry from the Sea’ saw a star studded line up including ‘Mamma Mia‘ star Dominic Cooper together with Aidan Quinn and Sarah Bolger embark upon the wilds of beautiful Belmullet. Prior to this ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’, ‘Banshees of Inisherin’ and ‘My Sailor, My Love’ have all made their mark on the world stage.

‘Prospect House’ has been nominated for a ‘Best New Irish Feature Award’ as part of Cork Film International Festival, proudly sponsored by Irish Examiner. The premiere of ‘Prospect House’ will take place this Friday 17th November at 8 pm in the The Everyman Palace Theatre Cork .
