Temporary closure of Blanemore Forest Walk from February 7th - Visit North Mayo

Coillte will be temporarily closing the walking trail at Blanemore Forest to facilitate the felling and safe extraction of timber (via the south entrance).

The Blanemore Forest & Walk located near the village of Moygownagh in North Mayo, will be closed to the public from February 7th for a period of eight to ten weeks.

Exciting ecological and amenity works will take place after harvesting is finished, which will include trail structural and safety upgrades, and new seating and picnic areas with improved access.

It is also been announced that 20% of the replanting will be native broadleaves (15% oak and 5% birch) mainly along the walking paths.

Please do NOT visit the Forest during this period as the forest will be closed to everyone. Signs will be in operation.
