The Sralagagh Loop is a beautiful scenic trail starting from Ballycastle Village. The trail is 9.5 km in distance, and rises to pass through working bogland, crossing the bottom of the hill at Ballyknock. The route affords walkers spectacular views of Downpatrick Head, before descending to Ballyglass. It is suitable for both walking and mountain biking, and for both beginner and experienced walkers, but as always on any walk, caution is advisable.
The trail consists of country lanes and sturdy sandy paths – an idyllic route for the walker seeking an route that shows the west of Ireland at its very best.
