The 7th annual Wild Atlantic 10-Miler race is scheduled to take place in Ballina on Sunday, August 16th 2026, at 11:00 AM. Mayo North Tourism is proud to sponsor this event once again this year.
Hosted by Ballina Athletic Club and AAI approved, every runner in the race will receive a bespoke medal to remember your day, and the first 200 registered will receive a technical t-shirt! The race is chipped and timed. There are cash prizes and trophies for the first three male & female runners home. There is also a cash prize if you’re quick enough to break the course record!
The race starts on Belleek Castle Road and commences at 11.00am and finishes at Ballina A.C. Take in some magnificent views along the River Moy through Belleek Woods and the Monasteries of the Moy Greenway. A relatively flat course making it ideal for runners new to the 10 mile distance. For those who wish to simply enjoy a friendly and scenic race this is the perfect course! The Wild Atlantic 10-miler is the perfect distance for those athletes preparing for longer races later in the year. The race gains in popularity year on year and there will be a large turnout on the day.
Walkers Welcome
Walkers are encouraged and welcome to take part in the event. They also have an earlier start time of 10am. For anyone wishing to walk the event please get in touch with the organisers via their Facebook page HERE. Participants on the day can expect exceptional hospitality. This is not only in terms of the post-event spread but also with the renowned local support encouraging runners along the route.

The race will start at 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 16th, 2026, at the Ballina Athletic Club, where parking is available. Participants will be able to collect their race numbers, chips, and t-shirts on Saturday, the 22nd, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM and on Sunday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM . A limited number of late registrations may be available on Sunday morning.
