The very first Western Strands String Fest is set to bring a lively atmosphere to Belmullet this weekend. Running from Friday, November 1st to Sunday, November 3rd, the three-day festival celebrates the vibrant world of string instruments. Organised by The Western Strands, this unique event invites musicians and music lovers from near and far to enjoy a packed program of sessions, workshops, a headline concert, and even a flash mob. It’s a fantastic opportunity to experience the rich musical traditions and warm community spirit of North Mayo.
Kicking off on Friday, the Western Strands String Fest will feature numerous activities, from engaging ukulele and guitar sessions to workshops for all skill levels. The festival’s highlight will be the Saturday evening concert by the renowned “Dead Man’s Uke” at Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, starting at 7:30 pm (ADM. €10). Known for their energetic performances, Dead Man’s Uke will bring their unique style to Erris, making this concert an unforgettable experience.
