An exhibition from The Ballinglen Permanent Collection in response to Jack B Yeats’ work
Discover a curated exhibition inspired by Jack B. Yeats, featuring works from The Ballinglen Arts Foundation Permanent Collection. It highlights contemporary artists who continue the tradition of drawing inspiration from the North Mayo landscape.
A visit to the west of Ireland in 1898 inspired Yeats’s first solo exhibition, Sketches of Life in the West of Ireland. To celebrate this important artistic legacy, The Ballinglen Arts Foundation and Museum has published David Connolly’s book Jack B. Yeats In Ballycastle and North Mayo. The volume documents Yeats’s connection with the area, includes many images of his work inspired by the region, and details his visits dating back to 1899.
