From annual fair days and heritage events to agricultural shows and music festivals, there’s something for everyone.   • The Mary Robinson Climate Conference: Wednesday, 5th – Friday, 7th June 2024
    The Mary Robinson Climate Conference is returning to Ballina from June 5th to 7th, focusing on “A Shared Response to a Shared Responsibility.” Building on the success of its inaugural year, the conference underscores the necessity of collective action to combat climate change. This year’s event features a diverse line-up of speakers and will commence with Mary Robinson leading a discussion on Project Dandelion alongside Laura Cook, former Communications Advisor to The Elders.   • 80th Anniversary of D-Day at Blacksod: Thursday, 6th June 2024
    Join the community of Blacksod in North Mayo on June 6th to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. This historic day marks the crucial role Blacksod and Maureen Sweeney played in the successful landing of Allied Forces on Normandy’s beaches. The day-long event will feature a dawn remembrance ceremony, engaging exhibits, guest speakers, musical entertainment, and a special aircraft flyover, all honouring the bravery and legacy of those who changed the course of history.   • Enniscrone Agricultural & Industrial Show, Sligo: Sunday, 7th July
    The annual Enniscrone Agricultural Show offers a fantastic day out for the whole family, featuring animal judging events, trade stands, and entertainment by Gerry Guthrie and Ruaile Buaile. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of food and refreshments, making it a fun and engaging event for all ages.
  • Ballina Salmon Festival 2024:  Saturday, 6th – Sunday, 14th July 2024
    Ballina Salmon Festival, the longest-running community festival along the Wild Atlantic Way, inspired by Ballina’s crown jewel, the River Moy, returns for its 60th year! Officially dubbed the ‘Salmon Capital of Ireland,’ Ballina will host some exciting highlights for the 2024 festival, including a Mike Denver concert in the historic Military Quarter, The Moy Swim, Teddy Bears’ Picnic, and the iconic Ballina Salmon Festival Heritage Day on Wednesday, 10th July. Cruinniú na mBád, a gathering of the boats on river Moy will take place on Friday 6th; on Saturday evening, 13th July, a “Jigs & Jerseys” inspired Festival Birthday Bash, will take place. This will be accompanied by live music by ‘Cronin’ followed by a spectacular fireworks display, along the two bridges and banks of the river Moy. This year’s Ballina Salmon Festival promises a memorable seven days of celebration from the 6th – 14th July 2024.

  • Ballina Agricultural Show: Sunday, 14th July 2024
    The Ballina Agricultural Show returns to Ballina Showgrounds on Sunday, July 14th, 2024. This event promises a full day of activities and entertainment for the entire family, including cattle and dog shows, horse and pony jumping, and showcasing. Additionally, there will be lifestyle events such as cookery demonstrations, craft displays, and bakery exhibits, along with plenty of entertainment for kids. It’s set to be a fantastic day with something for everyone!
  • Crossmolina Nephin Festival: Saturday, 13th – Sunday, 21st July 2024
    This year’s Crossmolina Nephin Festival has been extended to nine days and nights, running from July 13th to 21st. Expect a packed schedule of family fun and entertainment. Stay tuned for full details coming soon!
  • Erris Agricultural Show: Sunday, 28th July 2024
    This year’s Erris Agricultural Show promises a full day of activities for all ages, featuring various classes of animals on display, trade stands, and ‘Best Dressed’ competitions. Enjoy great musical entertainment from Patrick Feeney, followed by Michael S. Togher & Clodagh Togher on the show grounds. The festivities will conclude with a show dance featuring Rhythm & Sticks at the Broadhaven Bay Hotel.

  • The Black Pig Festival Enniscrone: Thursday, 25th – Monday, 29th July 2024
    Enniscrone in Sligo, just 15 minutes from Ballina, will host the Black Pig Beach Festival from July 25th to 29th, 2024. The event will feature live music, with the full lineup to be announced soon, and various fun family events to keep the craic going.
  • Crossmolina Agricultural Show: Saturday, 27th July 2024
    The Crossmolina Agricultural Show offers a fun-filled family day out with events and stalls for everyone, including various classes of livestock on display. The event will take place at the Community Field (Eircode: F26ED39).

  • Belderrig Bronze Man: Saturday, 3rd August 2024

  • ‘Síamsa Sráide’ Swinford Street & Arts Festival: Friday, 2nd – Wednesday, 7th August 2024
    The Swinford Síamsa Sráide Street Festival is returning this year, promising to be bigger and better than ever! This vibrant music, arts, sports, and fun celebration will mark its 38th year from August 2nd to August 7th, 2024. Join us in the streets of Swinford for an unforgettable experience!
  • Healyfest: Healy’s Bar Ballycastle: Friday 4th to Monday 7th August 2024
    Gaining near legendary status on the North Coast of Mayo, Healyfest returns once again for the August bank holiday. Featuring acts like Gorilla Radio, Oisin O Donnell, Tommy Maloney, Buck Taylor, and Keith McDonald, with more to be announced, it promises a weekend not to be missed. Admission and camping are free; just remember to pack your dancing shoes!
  • Tubbercurry Old Fair Day Festival, Sligo: Saturday, 5th to Wednesday 9th August Celebrating its 37th year, Tubbercurry Old Fair Day Festival runs from Saturday, August 10th, culminating in the highlight of the festival, the Old Fair Day on Wednesday, August 14th. A fun, family-friendly festival for all ages to enjoy every August, it carries on the tradition of the fair days of years past. The showcase event, the Old Fair Day, features a heritage and craft village, artisan stalls, vintage displays, animals, live music, and more, offering a treasure trove of activities showcasing traditions from bygone days.

  • Bonniconlon Show: Monday, 5th August 2024
    The highly successful Bonniconlon Agricultural Show returns on Monday, August 5th, 2024. As one of the major festivals in the region, it draws over 30,000 visitors annually, making it the second biggest agricultural show in Ireland. With a prize fund exceeding €60,000, the show offers a diverse range of events including a dog show, horse and pony lunging, sheepdog trials, the All-Ireland Calf finals, and the crowning of the Rose of Bonniconlon ‘Queen of the Show.’ There’s also the ‘Most Appropriately Dressed Lady’ competition, a heritage and vintage display, live music performances, and a party and disco for children, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.
  • Inver Festival: Friday, 9th – Sunday, 11th August 2024
    Inver Village in the parish of Kilcommon, Erris, welcomes back its charming festival.     The Western Dive Rally 2024 offers an exciting adventure for divers of all levels, hosted by the Gráinne Uaile Sub Aqua Club.   • Bangor Erris Sheep Fair and Heritage Day 2024, Saturday, 10th August 2024
  • The Bangor Erris Sheep Fair and Heritage Day will take place again this year on Saturday, 10th August 2024. This year promises to be even more exciting with a host of new additions. The fair will feature the buying and selling of livestock, various demonstrations of traditional and modern techniques, and an array of homemade products available for purchase.   • Geesala Festival: Sunday, 11th – Sunday, 18th August 2024
    Experience the vibrant spirit of the Geesala Festival 2024 from August 11th to 18th in County Mayo, Ireland.
